A CCTV annual maintenance contract keeps cameras, recorders and storage checked on a planned schedule instead of waiting for a failure. VOWTECH provides CCTV AMC in Abu Dhabi covering preventive maintenance visits, camera inspection and cleaning, DVR/NVR and hard disk checks, recording verification and troubleshooting when something stops working.
Most CCTV problems are discovered at the worst moment. Someone needs footage of an incident and finds the recorder stopped writing weeks ago, or the camera covering that door has shown a hazy image since the last spell of dusty weather. CCTV AMC exists to close that gap. Under an annual maintenance contract the system is inspected on a schedule, faults are found early and recordings are verified rather than assumed.
VOWTECH maintains systems put in through our own CCTV installation service as well as systems fitted by other contractors, once we have assessed their condition. The contract combines preventive maintenance visits with troubleshooting between visits. If you only need a single fault fixed for now, our CCTV maintenance and repair page explains the one-off option.
Modern surveillance is an IT system: IP cameras, PoE switches, recorders, hard disks and remote viewing all depend on the network. Because VOWTECH also delivers IT support in Abu Dhabi, the same team can trace a camera fault back to a switch port, a cable or a router setting, and CCTV cover can be paired with an IT AMC so both sit under one agreement.
A surveillance system fails in one of three places: at the camera, at the recorder, or on the path between them. A maintenance visit works through all three.
Every camera is viewed live and inspected physically where it can be reached safely. Lenses and domes are cleaned, the field of view is compared with what it is meant to cover, and brackets, junction boxes and connectors are checked for corrosion or water entry.
The DVR or NVR is the part that turns pictures into evidence. We review its logs and alarms, confirm every channel is recording, check hard disk health and free capacity, and make sure the date, time and retention period are correct.
For IP systems the switch, cabling and router matter as much as the cameras. We check PoE switch ports and link status, look for cameras that drop on and off the network, and test that remote viewing still works on the phones and PCs that rely on it.
The exact scope is written into each contract. These are the elements a CCTV AMC is normally built from.
Scheduled visits at the interval set in the contract — quarterly or monthly are common choices — where the whole system is worked through against a checklist.
Image quality, focus, infrared performance, physical condition and alignment are checked for each camera, with lenses and housings cleaned as part of the visit.
Recorder logs, channel status, fan and ventilation condition, time settings and firmware are reviewed, and dust is cleared from the unit where it is accessible.
Hard disk health is checked and recorded footage is actually played back, so you know the system holds usable video for the retention period you expect.
Network links to each camera, switch uplinks and remote access from mobile apps or client software are tested, since these often fail quietly after a router or ISP change.
Faults reported between visits are diagnosed and rectified where possible. Where a part has reached the end of its life, we recommend a replacement and explain why.
A maintenance contract works when both sides know exactly what equipment is covered and what state it was in on day one.
We survey the site and list cameras, recorders, disks, switches and power supplies with their current condition.
Covered equipment, visit frequency, fault reporting route and the treatment of spare parts are agreed in the contract.
Existing faults found during the assessment are quoted and put right so the contract starts from a known state.
Preventive maintenance is carried out to the checklist, with fault calls attended between visits as they arise.
Each visit ends with a report of what was checked, what was found and any replacement we recommend.
Many premises have surveillance obligations, and in every case recordings need to be available when someone asks for them. Regular maintenance is how you make sure they are.
Recording is verified at each visit, so a failed disk or stopped channel is caught long before an incident.
Dirty lenses, failing infrared, loose connectors and ageing hard disks are picked up while they are still minor.
Upkeep follows a calendar and equipment nearing end of life is flagged ahead of time, which helps with budgeting.
VOWTECH handles the cameras and the network behind them, so faults are not passed between two contractors.
