When a camera goes offline, the recorder stops saving footage or the mobile app will not connect, you need the fault found and fixed, not guessed at. VOWTECH troubleshoots, repairs and services CCTV systems across Abu Dhabi, including systems originally installed by other companies, as a one-off visit or under a maintenance contract.
A blank channel on the monitor could be a dead camera, a corroded connector, a failed power supply, a damaged cable run or a switch port that has stopped delivering power. Replacing the camera fixes only one of those. Proper CCTV maintenance starts with diagnosis: working from the recorder back to the camera, testing each link in turn and changing only the part that has really failed.
VOWTECH attends CCTV faults in offices, shops, warehouses and industrial premises across Abu Dhabi. You can book a single service visit for a specific problem, or move to a CCTV AMC if faults keep recurring and planned upkeep makes more sense. If you are comparing providers, our guide on how to choose a CCTV maintenance company sets out the questions worth asking.
Where equipment is beyond sensible repair — an obsolete recorder, cameras with failed sensors, cable that has degraded along its length — we say so and explain the options, from a like-for-like swap to a phased upgrade through our CCTV installation service. And because some camera faults turn out to be network faults, our on-site IT support engineers deal with switches, routers and port settings during the same visit.
Not every site needs a contract on day one. Choose the arrangement that matches how critical the system is and how often it gives trouble.
An engineer attends for a specific problem, diagnoses it and either repairs it on the spot or quotes for the part required. Suitable for systems that have generally been reliable and have developed a single fault.
Planned preventive visits plus fault attendance under one annual agreement. This suits sites where footage matters every day and where repeated one-off visits have become the more disruptive option.
If the original installer is no longer available, we document what is on site, recover or reset administrator access where you can show ownership, and bring the system back to a supportable condition.
These six problems are the ones CCTV owners report most often. Each has several possible causes, which is why testing comes before replacing.
Live view works but playback is empty or has gaps. Usual causes are a failed or full hard disk, a recording schedule that was changed, or a recorder that rebooted and lost its settings.
Dust, salt film and spider webs on the lens, a dome clouded by sun exposure, infrared reflecting off the housing, lost focus or failing IR LEDs all make a camera far less useful after dark.
One camera or a whole group shows video loss. We check power at the camera, PoE budget on the switch, IP address conflicts and the cable itself before condemning the camera.
Recorder disks run continuously and wear out. Warning signs include beeping, disk error messages and shrinking retention. We replace the disk with a surveillance-rated drive and re-initialise recording.
The app that used to work now shows the device as offline. This usually follows a router replacement, an ISP change, an expired cloud login or a changed password on the recorder.
Outdoor connectors corrode, cable gets crushed during other building work and shared power supplies fail under load. These faults often show up as flickering, rolling lines or cameras that drop at night.
A methodical sequence avoids the expensive habit of replacing parts until the problem goes away.
Tell us what you see — photos of the screen or error message by WhatsApp or email help us prepare.
Where secure remote access to the recorder exists we look at logs and settings first; otherwise we attend site.
We test from recorder to switch, cable and camera, swapping in known-good parts to pin down the failed item.
You get the finding and the options; nothing beyond minor fixes is replaced without your agreement.
We confirm live view, recording and playback are working, then note what was changed for your records.
Repairing is not always the economical answer, and replacing is not always necessary. These are the factors we weigh up with you.
If the recorder or camera model is discontinued and spares are scarce, repeated repairs become poor value.
Older low-resolution cameras may work perfectly yet still fail to show a face or number plate clearly enough.
One failed camera is a repair. Degraded cabling or an overloaded power supply affecting many cameras points to wider work.
We set out what a repair involves, what a replacement involves and what each would mean for the rest of the system.
