Server Infrastructure — Abu Dhabi, Dubai & UAE

Server Solutions: From Advice to Operation

Before choosing a server, a business has to decide what should run where — on site, virtualised, hosted or a mix. VOWTECH helps organisations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and across the UAE make that decision, then supplies, deploys, migrates and looks after the resulting server environment.

// OVERVIEW

Start With the Workload, Not the Hardware

Server projects go wrong when they begin with a model number. The useful questions come first: which applications does the business depend on, who uses them and from where, how much data is involved, how long could you work without each system, and what must stay inside the country or the building. The answers point to the right platform.

From there VOWTECH produces a plain recommendation. Sometimes it is a single tower server; sometimes a pair of rack servers running virtual machines; sometimes moving a workload to a hosted platform and keeping only a small server on site. We explain the trade-offs in running cost, resilience and effort, not just the purchase.

We then carry the plan through: procurement, build, migration from the old system and steady-state care under server management. Having one party responsible from advice to operation avoids the gap where the seller, the installer and the support company each blame the other.

Three Ways to Run Your Servers

Most businesses land on a combination. The aim is to place each workload where it runs well and is easy to look after.

On-Premises Servers

Physical servers in your own office or server room. Suits software that must be hosted locally, very large files, sites with limited internet and organisations that want direct control of their data.

Data stays on your premises
Fast local access for large files
Independent of internet quality
Needs power, cooling and backup planning

Virtualised Environments

Several virtual servers share one or more physical hosts. Hardware is used more fully, each application stays isolated and a virtual machine can be moved or restored as a whole.

Fewer physical machines to run
Isolation between applications
Whole-server snapshots and restores

Hybrid & Hosted Servers

Some workloads run in a private cloud or on hosted servers while others remain on site, linked securely. Useful for multi-branch access and for off-site recovery copies.

Reachable from every branch
Off-site recovery location
Capacity added without new hardware

Server Services Across the Whole Lifecycle

Pick the parts you need, or have us run the project from start to finish.

Assessment & Roadmap

We review existing servers, age, warranty status, utilisation, risks and licensing, and set out what to keep, replace, consolidate or move, in a sensible order.

Platform Selection & Supply

Tower, rack or blade hardware is specified to the workload and supplied together with operating system and client access licences.

Core Server Roles

Directory services, DNS and DHCP, file and print, remote desktop, application and database roles are installed and configured to a documented standard.

Consolidation

Ageing single-purpose servers are converted to virtual machines on fewer, newer hosts, reducing hardware, power draw and the number of things that can fail.

Migration & Upgrades

Moves from end-of-support operating systems or old hardware are planned with a test pass, a cutover window and a rollback route. See server migration.

Protection & Recovery

Backup, replication and recovery procedures are designed around how long each system can be down, then tested so the first restore is not during a crisis.

// HOW WE WORK

A Five-Stage Server Project

Each stage ends with something you can review before the next begins.

Discover

Applications, users, data, dependencies and constraints are gathered and written down.

Design

Options are compared and one architecture is recommended with clear reasons and scope.

Procure

Hardware, software and licences are ordered against the agreed specification.

Deploy & Migrate

Systems are built, tested, migrated in a planned window and verified with your users.

Operate

Monitoring, patching, backup checks and support continue under an agreed arrangement.

// WHY VOWTECH

Why Take a Whole-Picture Approach

Servers last for years, so early decisions carry a long tail.

Platform-Neutral Advice

We compare on-site, virtual and hosted options on their merits for your workloads.

Spend Where It Matters

Right-sizing avoids paying for idle capacity while protecting the systems that truly need resilience.

One Accountable Party

The same team advises, builds, migrates and supports, so nothing falls between suppliers.

Based in Abu Dhabi

Server Solutions Questions

It depends on the workload. Email and document collaboration generally suit cloud services. Locally hosted ERP, large design or video files, and systems tied to on-site equipment often run better on premises. Many organisations keep a small local footprint and place the rest in the cloud, which our cloud solutions team can help plan.
Warning signs include the end of manufacturer warranty or parts availability, an operating system that no longer receives security updates, storage that is nearly full, rising hardware alerts and performance complaints that tuning does not resolve. An assessment weighs these against the cost and risk of keeping the machine going.
Frequently, yes. Virtualisation lets each old server become a virtual machine on a new host, so applications remain separate while sharing modern hardware. We check processor, memory, storage and licensing requirements first, and usually recommend two hosts where the business cannot tolerate a single point of failure.
Yes. Patching, monitoring, backup verification, capacity checks and fault response can be provided as a standalone service or within an annual maintenance contract, with support available around the clock. Details are on our server management page.
